A CELEBRATION FOR GRANDMA HELEN JACOBS

and, because
Kanda
could not be a part of
her
Grandmother's 90th Birthday
I, Kanda's mom,
chose this particular music
because during
Kanda's
high school years, the
FHS PEP BAND
always played
this song, especially during
basketball games
and I can still hear and
visilize "MY KANDA" playing
her flute in the front row WITH
the FHS PEP BAND.

How about this little guy looking so
much like brother Jerrin
when he was young,
blowing bubbles for his "SISSY"
During the years,
"In the Mood"
was popular,
Grandmother Helen
was a
"BEAUTIFUL
YOUNG LADY." AND
NOW IS A "90"
YEARS YOUNG BEAUTIFUL LADY

To live to be
90 years young,
well, what an honor as our
Grandma Helen Jacobs
has just turned
90 years young on
August 2, 2006.
BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS FOR A
BEAUTIFUL LADY
Because of limited time,
many of her great grandchildren
and grandchildren celebrated her
90th
birthday on two different days,
so she
was blessed with
two celebrations
since
most of her family could not be
together at one time.
Her grandson, Steve,
had made plans
to go
out on the town,
picking her up in a limo,
( Steve, this color
would not have been your
choice
but it will have
to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
but since our
area is a small population
and one
hundred miles from
any major city, unfortunately
his surprise could not take place.
With her
health issues, Grandmother felt
she
should not attend
her birthday dinner at
Ethridges, Friday evening,
in Flora, IL,
but she surely made up for it on
Saturday and
since her granddaughter,
Susan, had been
visiting with her the
week of her
90th birthday,
she and Susan prepared
a wonderful meal
for Saturday lunch
so Grandma was back
in the saddle
cooking for a large group,
with the help of her
granddaughter and
enjoying every minute of it.
"SURPRISE," daughter Kay,
granddaughters Susan and Gina and
I, daughter in law, pushed Grandmother
in her wheel chair
into our
Brand New Super Walmart
on
August 5th of 2006
and since she enjoys making a few
crafts,
she,
being inside the big Super
Walmart, could select all the
craft supplies she
wanted which was a plus,
since
she usually would
have someone pick up
her supplies, trying to
descibe the buttons, lace, etc
she would need to make her
variety of "CUTE"
"Bonnet Babies."
My heart hurt as we
celebrated and
"OUR PRECIOUS KANDA"
was not
present as was her brother,
JERRIN.
I, Kanda's mom just
CONTINUED thinking
about her not being a part of
this wonderful
celebration of her
GRANDMOTHER'S 90TH BIRTHDAY
and having the opportunity to
visit with
many of her family members from
NORTHERN ILLINOIS
present for this wonderful
celebration.
